Cincinnati Comic Expo 2012

I'll be exhibiting at the Cincinnati Comic Expo next weekend, September 22 – 23. So if you happen to be in the area, I'd sure love for you to stop by! Check out the convention website here for more info on the show.

I'll have a bunch of great merchandise available, including the special print-only 2012 Convention Exclusive. As always, I'll be joined by brother and awesome artist Nate Xopher, who will have some cool stuff as well. I hope to see you all there!

Through a Glass, Ugly

For those of you wondering what I've been up to, this may answer your question. The Saga of Fred Lactus Chapter 5 is now online! So check it out here, and be sure to read the story so far here if you need to get caught up.

I've spent a lot of time on this one and I hope you guys can dig it. Once I finish up Rock of Pages, I've got something planned that will allow me to update more regularly. For now, just bear with me. I may disappear for awhile again, but don't worry. This isn't the end.*

*Spoiler Alert

Gem City Comic Con 2012

Hello fans! Just taking a breather from the drawing board to let you all know that I'll be exhibiting at the Gem City Comic Con next weekend, March 31-April1. Check out the con website for more details on the show.

I've got a brand new Convention Exclusive Issue I'll be debuting, featuring a special print-only #0 issue of Rock of Pages, a back up story by guest cartoonist Matthew T. Krysiak, and a sketch gallery from yours truly (which also includes a sneak peak at the next chapter of Fred Lactus). As always, I'll be accompanied by amazing artist and brother Nate Xopher, who will have some great prints for sale. So if you happen to be in the Dayton area next weekend, I'd sure love to see some of you there!

In other news, I'm about halfway through the pencils on the next issue. Rock of Pages is very much still going on, it's just taking longer to get done these days. So it's more All Star Superman than All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder, if that analogy makes sense. I'm super excited about it though, and hopefully you'll agree it was worth the time to get it done right.

A Special Holiday Announcement

Greetings People of Earth.

All of my fans have been up in arms about having to wait two months for a Rock of Pages update, and both of them want to know what's going on. Well, the bad news is you're going to have to wait just a little longer.

I recently took on a new full time job that keeps me occupied 40 hours a week. As much as I love the flexible schedule of freelancing, it just wasn't enough to pay the bills and I couldn't pass up this opportunity. That being said, I'm still 100% committed to keeping this comic going. Everything's just taking a little longer these days.

Also, since last issue, I've been working on a lot of stuff that doesn't necessitate updating the website. First off, I made my own font, which makes lettering way easier, and it looks way better. It's going to debut in a new Rock of Pages #0 issue, which is the other thing that's been keeping me busy. This is going to be available in print as part of my 2012 convention exclusive. While I don't have my convention schedule finalized yet, I expect it to premier at the Gem City Comic Con, on March 31.

Coming up next for me is the Saga of Fred Lactus: Chapter 5. The Lactus stuff always seems to take more time , so I imagine it'll be a couple months before it's up here. Thanks for your patience.

Finally, I'd like to extend my gratitude to everyone who's visited the site this year. Your feedback and support really make it all worthwhile and I hope you each have an awesome holiday season. This year's been great for me and I hope it only gets better in 2012!

Issue #17

Thanks for stopping by! While you're here, you should check out the new issue. Also, if you want 16 additional stories, check out the story so far. Minor spoilers follow.

As I'm sure you all know, Rock of Pages is loosely based on my own life. Now that I'm getting toward the end here, I'm more concerned with making decisions that serve the story rather than simply trying to be autobiographical. So a couple characters featured in this issue are fictional amalgamations that have been inspired by several different people and reformed into something new. If you know me in real life and see someone you think you recognize, it may not mean anything at all. Comic books are only as real as you want them to be.

So just sit back and enjoy. I'm working on a special 2012 convention exclusive right now, then it's the penultimate chapter of Fred Lactus.
