Here's a breakdown of my thoughts from the new Comic Con trailer for Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice (actual title of a movie).
Ch-ch-changes!
Welcome to leexopher.com v4.0!
It's been a long time coming, and I'm happy to say I finally got this thing redesigned. The new site is optimized for mobile devices and various display sizes, courtesy of squarespace.com. Ideally it will also be easier to edit and update more regularly, so this will be a work in progress for some time. I just have a few notes for you guys as you take a look around:
Rock of Pages
The main attraction is still the comic Rock of Pages. The prologue chapter, Overture, is available for the first time online, and keen eyed readers will notice that the whole series has been re-lettered. There are a few minor art changes as well, so in a lot of ways it should be a new reading experience. Which brings me to...
Store
In case you missed it, my first short print run of the complete Rock of Pages arrived last weekend. I'm still working on getting a new online store set up also, so for the time being, you'll have to catch me at a convention to snag a copy. The next one I'll be exhibiting at is SPACE in Columbus, OH on July 18-19.
Conventions
Speaking of conventions, I've got a new page that lists all the upcoming shows I'll be attending. Keep an eye peeled there to see where I'll be next.
Portfolio
For now, please check out my deviantart page to view my portfolio.
Beyond that, follow me on Facebook and Twitter to stay in the loop about future updates (I've got a bunch of exciting new stuff planned!). And shoot me a line if you dig the new layout, or if you find any bugs to report. If you like anything, be sure to click one of those fancy Share buttons below and spread the word.
I've got a feeling v4.0 is going to be the best one yet!
The End
This is it! The final issue of Rock of Pages is finally here. Check out I Woke Up for one last chance to see if this thing makes any sense whatsoever.
Once more, I want to offer my sincerest thanks to everyone who's ever read the series, stopped by to visit at a convention, or even paid money for something I made. Rock of Pages has been an incredibly rewarding experience and this last one goes out to everyone who's taken some part of this ride with me.
So from here, there are just a few things I'm working on to finish up. I'm currently re-lettering all of the issues I originally did by hand so everything's consistent. Then I'll be designing the cover, title page, and other miscelanious pages for the collected print edition. Hopefully at some point this year I'll have a complete graphic novel at stores near you! And I should get around to redesigning this site one of these days. Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Facebook for my progress reports and convention schedule.
Thanks again for reading everybody, and I'll see you in the funny pages!
Cincinnati Comic Expo 2014
It's that time of year again! I'll be exhibiting at the Cincinnati Comic Expo 9/20-21, along with my parter-in-crime Nate. We'll both have a bunch of brand new Xopher merchandise, so stop by table F6! If you happen to be in the area and are looking for some awesome comic stuff to do, I hope to see you there.
On a reIated note, I'm hard at work finishing up the final issue of Rock of Pages, so stay tuned for updates on that. I hope to get all of the artwork done for the series this year, and then I'll be working on getting the collected edition out to stores everywhere. If you're new to the site, be sure to follow me on Twitter, like me on Facebook, and catch up on all the issues of Rock of Pages online!
Issue #23
WARNING: This issue has classy nudity, so make sure you're someplace where you won't get fired if someone sees you reading it! If the coast is clear, check out the new issue, Artist Statement, and be sure to read up on all your favorite Rock of Pages while you're here.
I've had the final two issues mostly planned out for quite some time now. But this one went through more than a few changes as it became time to actually work on it, which is only fitting. I've written a number of artist statements over the years that usually subvert the assignment in some way or another. So here's my "professional artist" attempt in comic book form, whatever that means. But hey, it has boobs, so everybody wins.
Up next: THE END???
